Project overview
IAC were appointed as Archaeological Consultants on the landmark Project Opera. Located at the heart of Limerick City Centre the 3.7acre Opera Square project will be a landmark commercial development in a regional and national context and one that will reflect Limerick’s status as a leading city in sustainability and innovation.
The development includes the preservation and re-use of the numerous protected structures, the establishment of an urban plaza, a landmark 14-storey building comprising a mixed-use development including office, residential, aparthotel, restaurant/retail and a new city library. IAC prepared a detailed archaeological heritage impact assessment as part of the successful planning process. Works have commenced on site and timelapse footage of the demolition phase captured by Evercam is available to view on their website.
