IAC have carried out geophysical surveys on a wide range of projects and site types.
Geophysical survey involves the non-invasive investigation of greenfield sites that can be used to inform design and mitigation measures in the early stages of a project. Geophysical techniques, such as magnetic gradiometry and resistivity, are employed to indicate the presence of sub-surface archaeological features; recorded as geophysical anomalies. These may subsequently be investigated through the excavation of test trenches to confirm archaeological potential.
- Rapid Magnetometer Scanning surveys for large areas
- Detailed gradiometer surveys for planning applications/EIA’s
- Resistivity Surveys
- Ground penetrating radar (GPR)
